DJI is leading the way again with the Zenmuse 30 camera lens system which, as the name implies, will give the drones it is mounted to a 30X optical zoom. It also includes a 6X digital zoom. This means that people who use drones for applications like inspections or search and rescue can get much closer to their subjects. Of course the effectiveness of a zoom lens depends heavily upon the steadiness of the platform upon which the camera is mounted.
