Verizon Communications Inc. has announced that it will begin to sell data plans for drones in 2017. The uses for this type of data plan include the ability to stream live video from drones, locate drones, and use real time mapping data in the sky. This could also, eventually lead to the ability for pilots to fly drones remotely from great distances away. Of course there are regulations that will need to be addressed, but the first step is for the communications companies to enable the data plans.
