Because of regulations in the United States about drone flying being “line of sight” and under certain altitudes, Amazon has had to move to the English countryside to test their delivery drones. This testing is taking place in the tiny town of Worsted Lodge, England and is showing promise. And Amazon is not alone in testing drone technology in different corners of the world. In New Zealand, Domino’s Pizza is testing drones to deliver pizzas. Google is offering burrito orders delivered by drone in Virginia. JD.com, a Chinese e-commerce company, already has a fleet of drones flying autonomously for a maximum of 15 miles round-trip, to reach rural communities in China.
