For several years Amazon, one of the world’s largest online retailers, has been working on the idea of drone delivery for package shipment. And while most of this work has been done in secret in a remote part of Canada, Amazon has now taken one step closer to making this vision a reality by partnering with the British government supported by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), As the UK’s aviation safety regulator, the CAA will be an important partner in exploring the potential for safe use of drones beyond line of sight. The outcomes of these tests will help determine future policies both in the UK and the rest of the world.
